Performance
All 2025 HiLux variants are powered by Toyota’s reliable 1GD-FTV 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine, matched with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission depending on the variant.
For improved responsiveness and efficiency, selected SR and SR5 4×4 automatic models feature Toyota’s V-Active 48-volt system, contributing to smoother take-off and enhanced driving feel.
SR 4×4 grades further gain advanced off-road tools including Multi Terrain Select, downhill assist control and a locking rear differential, while the SR5 benefits from a comfort-oriented rear suspension tune to deliver a smoother and more composed ride without sacrificing towing capacity.
Exterior
The new HiLux introduces a redesigned exterior shaped through Toyota Australia’s development input.
The WorkMate variant features 17-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, body-coloured bumpers, shark-fin antenna and a choice of four exterior colours.
Higher trims such as the SR add 17-inch alloys, LED fog lamps, side steps and black exterior accents.
Moving to the SR5, buyers get 18-inch alloy wheels, upgraded disc brakes, sports bar, privacy glass and auto-retracting mirrors.
The flagship Rogue and Rugged X models stand out with premium exterior enhancements including unique alloy wheels, specialised bumpers, recovery points, LED light bar (Rugged X), electric roller cover (Rogue), marine-grade bedliner, and a fully integrated towing kit.
Interior
Inside, Toyota has redesigned the cabin across all grades, highlighted by a new 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The WorkMate features fabric seats, all-weather mats, manual AC, a 7-inch digital cluster, USB-C ports and a two-speaker audio system (upgraded to four speakers in double cab models).
The SR adds more comfort with bolstered seats, upgraded fabric upholstery, leather-accented steering wheel and shift knob, wireless phone charging, rear-seat AC vents and an eight-speaker sound system.
The SR5 enhances luxury with dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, electro-chromatic rear mirror and a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
A $2,500 Premium Interior package adds leather upholstery and a nine-speaker JBL audio system.
Safety
Toyota has significantly strengthened the safety suite across the new HiLux range.
Standard features now include autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert, lane trace assist, road sign assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, active cruise control, and a reversing camera.
Higher variants such as the SR and SR5 benefit from additional tools including a panoramic view monitor, tyre pressure monitoring, Multi-Terrain Monitor, and emergency driving stop system.
Toyota Connected Services are standard across the lineup, offering Automatic Collision Notification, SOS emergency call, vehicle insights and remote functions via the MyToyota Connect app.
