2026 Toyota C-HR Upgraded with Premium Mid+ and GR SPORT

Toyota C-HR

Toyota has refreshed the appeal of its popular C-HR crossover SUV with major updates for the 2026 model year, focusing on elevating comfort, style, and performance.

The latest improvements enhance the Mid+ grade’s premium feel while expanding the GR SPORT lineup, making the C-HR even more attractive in the fiercely competitive compact hybrid SUV segment.

Since its debut in 2017, the C-HR has achieved more than one million sales across Europe, proving its wide market success.

The C-HR Mid+ grade now offers a more upscale design and cabin experience. It features new 18-inch matt black machined alloy wheels and a refreshed interior that combines elegance with sustainability.

The seats are upholstered in a new Samara fabric, significantly increasing the use of recycled materials, reflecting Toyota’s ongoing commitment to eco-friendly innovation.

Additional touches, such as grey stitching on the front seats and a gunmetal-finished gear shift knob, further enhance the cabin’s refined aesthetic.

Meanwhile, the GR SPORT variant, known for its motorsport-inspired performance and styling, is now available with a wider range of powertrains.

The 2026 lineup introduces the 1.8-litre hybrid engine (140 DIN hp) alongside the existing 2.0-litre hybrid (180 DIN hp) and the 2.0-litre Plug-in Hybrid (223 DIN hp) options.

This expansion allows customers to enjoy the GR SPORT’s dynamic appeal with varying levels of power and efficiency.

Standard features for the GR SPORT models include a head-up display, while premium options such as a panoramic roof, bi-tone+ colour schemes, and a JBL premium sound system enhance customization.

The 1.8-litre hybrid GR SPORT rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, while the 2.0-litre versions sport larger 20-inch alloys for a more aggressive stance.

For 2026, Toyota is also introducing two new exterior colours, Storm Grey and Lunar Sky Blue, adding more visual appeal across all grades.

In terms of safety, every variant now comes equipped with a Driver Monitor Camera, which detects driver fatigue or distraction and works with the Emergency Driving Stop System for enhanced protection.

Under the hood, the C-HR Plug-in Hybrid continues to impress with up to 66 km of combined electric range, extending to around 100 km in city driving.

This efficiency is optimized through Toyota’s Predictive Efficient Drive system, which uses geo-fencing technology to improve battery usage in low-emission zones — solidifying the 2026 Toyota C-HR as one of the most advanced and eco-conscious compact SUVs on the market.
