The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially revised match timings for the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2025, aiming to reduce weather-related disruptions and improve viewing convenience for fans across the region.
Under the updated schedule, most evening matches will now start at 6:30 PM UAE time (7:30 PM Pakistan time) instead of the previous 6:00 PM slot. The adjustment is expected to provide better playing conditions, considering the high humidity and unpredictable weather during the tournament.
A special doubleheader is planned for September 15, with UAE facing Oman in Abu Dhabi at 4:30 PM local time, followed by Sri Lanka taking on Hong Kong in Dubai at 6:30 PM. Organisers believe the timing revision will allow fans to enjoy consecutive fixtures without overlap.
The 15th edition of the men’s Asia Cup will follow the T20I format and feature eight teams – Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Oman, UAE, and Hong Kong – divided into two groups.
• Group A: Pakistan, India, UAE, Oman
• Group B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong
The tournament begins on September 9 with Afghanistan vs Hong Kong at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi and will culminate in a high-stakes final on September 28.
