Christina Aguilera is marking a major milestone as she prepares to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her debut album.
Joining her for this special occasion is none other than Sabrina Carpenter, who was born the same year Aguilera’s self-titled album was released.
On Wednesday, Aguilera, now 43, shared a playful TikTok video featuring Carpenter. In the video, the pair lip-synced to a popular clip from The Kardashians, with Carpenter humorously referring to Aguilera as her “mom.”
Quoting Kylie Jenner’s famous line, Carpenter said, “I’m obsessed with my mom… I am her favorite. We actually have a relationship like she has no other kids.”
The duo appeared glammed up, sitting in what looked like a studio with microphones and instruments in the background, teasing fans with the idea that something musical might be in the works.
Aguilera reposted the video to her Instagram Stories with the caption, “I don’t think you understand, I’m obsessed,” adding to the excitement surrounding their collaboration.
The celebration of Aguilera’s iconic album will take place in an upcoming episode of Spotify Anniversaries. Carpenter is set to join Aguilera in commemorating the album, which helped launch Aguilera’s career as one of the most powerful voices in pop music.
Aguilera expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration during an interview with Rolling Stone, stating, “I wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my debut album in a way that brings together the past and present.” She praised Carpenter, calling her a perfect fit for the tribute.
Carpenter, a lifelong fan of Aguilera, shared her excitement as well. In a previous interview with People magazine, she called Aguilera “one of my very first idols and icons.” Reflecting on their upcoming collaboration, Carpenter said, “She’s very special to me. Those songs raised me.”
Fans of both artists are eagerly anticipating what this dynamic duo has in store for the celebration.
