Hollywood star Amanda Seyfried recently revealed a surprising behind-the-scenes moment from the set of The Housemaid, admitting she was unaware she held a second job as the film’s executive producer.
The 40-year-old actress, who starred alongside Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar in the psychological thriller, shared the amusing revelation during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. Seyfried said she only discovered her producer credit three weeks into filming.
“I saw the call sheet and I was like, ‘Executive producer? I didn’t sign up for that,’” she recalled, adding that she had to double-check with another producer to confirm the role. Her reaction, she joked, was simple: “This film better be a hit.”
Despite the prestigious title, the Mean Girls alum clarified that her involvement remained purely on the acting side. She described the credit as a “vanity role,” explaining that she focused solely on performing and enjoying the experience rather than participating in production decisions.
One of the key reasons Seyfried signed on to the project was the opportunity to work with director Paul Feig. She praised his creative energy and said collaborating with him made the experience both surprising and rewarding.
The Housemaid premiered in cinemas on December 19, 2025, and has since gained attention for its gripping storyline, performances, and unexpected behind-the-scenes anecdotes shared by its leading star.
