Amanda Seyfried is stepping confidently into her 40s, reflecting on personal growth and professional success as her career continues to soar.
The Oscar-nominated actress celebrated her 40th birthday in December 2025 and says she feels grateful for the opportunities coming her way. Seyfried recently had two films released within days of each other — The Housemaid and The Testament of Ann Lee — both of which have earned strong critical praise.
Notably, The Testament of Ann Lee secured Seyfried a Golden Globe nomination, marking another major milestone in her evolving career.
Speaking to Porter magazine, the Letters to Juliet star opened up about embracing this new chapter of her life.
“I’m embracing myself in this new decade in a way that I wondered if I’d be able to when I was a little younger,” Seyfried said.
The actress also reflected on longevity in the entertainment industry, acknowledging how her perspective has shifted over time.
“I kind of value myself a little differently in that, wow, I got here and I’m doing OK,” she shared. “I don’t feel like I have anything to prove to Hollywood anymore, to my peers or the industry.”
Despite that sense of contentment, Seyfried added that she would still welcome future challenges. “If I did have something to prove, I’d be really quite happy,” she said.
Beyond her career, Seyfried spoke about her family life and decision to raise her children away from the spotlight. She lives in the upstate New York hamlet of Stone Ridge with her husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, and their two children — daughter Nina, eight, and son Thomas, five.
“It’s way less Hollywood noise,” she explained. “My children know that I’m a recognized person in the world, that I’m an actor, and that me being on TV is very normal for them.”
Seyfried emphasized that privacy remains her top priority. “They also know that they’re safe at home and they have their own privacy — and that’s everything,” she added.
