The Mamma Mia! actress says managing her glamorous acting career and responsibilities on her farm helps her stay grounded and focused on what matters most.

Amanda Seyfried has opened up about balancing her glamorous Hollywood career with the quieter responsibilities of life on her farm, describing how the two worlds allow her to remain present in different aspects of her life.

Speaking to WWD, the Mamma Mia! star recalled a humorous moment while filming a segment for CBS Sunday Morning at her farm. Wearing make-up for the appearance, she joked that her animals did not recognise her.

“It’s funny to have that dichotomy of my glamorous life, which I do have a glamorous life,” Seyfried said, explaining how different her professional and personal environments can be.

The actress added that embracing both sides of her life had helped her realise she could manage responsibilities that once seemed difficult to imagine.

“I can have both and be present in both equally, which is always a good reminder,” she said, acknowledging that balancing the two worlds could also be challenging.

Seyfried has previously spoken to CBS about the importance of her everyday farm routine. She explained that caring for her animals provides a sense of responsibility and keeps her focused on priorities beyond her career.

“I love it because nothing else matters. Because they need to get fed,” she said.

The actress also described Hollywood as an environment with complicated personalities, noting that it did not always feel like a safe place to work. By contrast, her farm offers a lifestyle she has long wanted.

Seyfried is widely recognised for playing Karen Smith in Mean Girls and Sophie in Mamma Mia!. Her comments highlight how she values maintaining a balance between her high-profile acting career and her life away from the entertainment industry.
