Ana de Armas has finally opened up about a much-discussed on-set moment with her Knives Out co-star Chris Evans—a scene that left audiences both amused and curious.
In a recent appearance on the popular interview show Hot Ones with host Sean Evans, Ana de Armas reflected on the unforgettable moment where her character, Marta Cabrera, vomits on Evans’ character, Ransom Drysdale. The scene was both hilarious and pivotal in the 2019 murder mystery film, where de Armas played a compassionate nurse entangled in a web of family secrets, while Evans portrayed the conniving grandson of a slain novelist.
Ana de Armas shared the behind-the-scenes chaos of filming that scene, saying, “We had the props guys preparing different textures and mixes in various cups. While they were lighting the room, we went outside to test them.” She noted that it became a full-on spectacle, adding, “Everyone came out just to see. It was an event.”
The Blonde star further described the technical aspect of perfecting the vomit effect. “We needed it to land perfectly on Chris’ face,” Ana de Armas recalled. “So we tried one that was kind of chunky. There were pieces in it.”
Laughing, she added, “He’s so handsome, we really wanted to mess with him.”
Ana de Armas’ lighthearted recounting of the moment has reignited fans’ appreciation for her comedic chemistry with Evans, both on and off the screen. The two previously also starred in Ghosted, further cementing their collaborative charm in Hollywood.
Currently, Ana de Armas is in the thick of promotional duties for her upcoming action thriller Ballerina, set in the John Wick universe. With the film slated for release on June 6, de Armas is stepping confidently into the spotlight as a solo action lead—a major milestone in her rising career.
Ana de Armas continues to prove she’s not just captivating on screen, but equally engaging behind the scenes.
