PkRevenue.com – Andy Murray’s grass-court season got off to a rocky start as he faced defeat against American Marcos Giron in the Stuttgart Open.

This match marked the 999th singles game of Murray’s illustrious career, but the three-time Grand Slam champion fell 6-3, 6-4 in the opening round.

The 37-year-old Murray is preparing for what many believe will be his final Wimbledon, having previously stated his intentions of not “playing much beyond the summer.” Despite recent difficulties, he shared that his physical condition has improved since switching to grass courts.

In his match against Giron, Murray managed to save break points in his first service game but couldn’t capitalize on an early opportunity to break his opponent.

Giron, ranked 54th in the world, seized the advantage by breaking Murray’s serve to take a 4-2 lead, ultimately winning the first set with relative ease.

Murray showed determination at the beginning of the second set, holding his serve to love in the first game and then advancing to a 40-15 lead on Giron’s serve.

However, he struggled to convert his break points, allowing Giron to break his serve and maintain the lead to clinch the match.

Giron, at 30 years old, will now move on to face another Briton, sixth seed Jack Draper, in the second round scheduled for Wednesday.

Looking ahead, Murray plans to participate in the Cinch Championships at Queen’s next week as he continues to prepare for Wimbledon.

Additionally, he and his brother Jamie Murray will team up for the men’s doubles at the All England Club, marking their first Grand Slam appearance as a duo.

Wimbledon is set to commence on July 1, and fans are eagerly anticipating Murray’s performance in what could be his final appearance at the historic tournament.

As he continues his preparation, Murray remains hopeful for a strong showing, both in singles and doubles, at the prestigious event.
