Anne Hathaway recently opened up about her much-anticipated return to two of her most iconic roles, in the sequels to The Princess Diaries (2001) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006). The actress, known for her captivating performances in these beloved films, expressed her eagerness to begin work on both projects, though she remained tight-lipped about any details regarding the sequels.

“I’m so excited to start working on both of these films as soon as possible,” Hathaway revealed, while also playfully admitting, “I cannot tell a thing about the sequels for now.” Her enthusiasm for the projects is evident, even though specifics remain under wraps.

Reflecting on the lasting impact of her early career roles, the 42-year-old actress spoke with WWD about how both films were deeply significant in her journey. “I was so beautifully cared for on both of those films,” Hathaway shared. She recalled being very young during the making of both movies, describing herself as a “legal child” when she filmed The Princess Diaries and a “very, very young woman” when she starred in The Devil Wears Prada.

Hathaway, now a seasoned Hollywood star, spoke with appreciation about the guidance she received from the directors and crew on both sets. “I was so guided and looked after by the communities that made both of those films, particularly by their directors, Garry Marshall and David Frankel,” she said.

Now, as an experienced actress, Hathaway expressed her excitement about returning to the sets, this time with a new role: that of a leader. “I’m so excited that now I can do that for other people,” she explained. “Now I have the knowledge, experience, and confidence to take care of others on sets, where I’m looked at as a leader.”
