The 2025 IFSC Climbing World Cup season concluded with a dramatic finale in Innsbruck, where Sorato Anraku of Japan and Oriane Bertone of France were declared the overall bouldering champions.

The season delivered an exceptional showcase of athleticism and determination, thrilling climbing fans around the world.

Sorato Anraku, already an Olympic silver medalist, secured his third consecutive overall title in the men’s bouldering category. The 18-year-old maintained a dominant presence throughout all six World Cup events this season.

His final performance in Innsbruck earned him a silver medal, adding to a collection that already included three golds, two silvers, and one bronze. His results left no doubt about his supremacy on the circuit.

The men’s overall podium featured France’s Mejdi Schalck in second place, followed by Sohta Amagasa of Japan in third. Their achievements highlighted the increasingly competitive international field of athletes in the sport.

China’s Pan Yufei reached a personal milestone by finishing in the top 10 of the men’s overall standings for the first time. He placed 10th despite battling a back injury that forced him to withdraw from the lead climbing event in Innsbruck.

Pan had impressed throughout the season with two final appearances and his first-ever World Cup victory, describing the season as a validation of his development and a motivating force for future goals.

In the women’s division, Oriane Bertone clinched the 2025 Boulder World Cup title. Her consistent performances, including a silver medal in the final event, secured her place at the top of the standings.

Slovenia’s Olympic champion Janja Garnbret made a remarkable return to competition in Innsbruck after focusing earlier in the season on outdoor climbing.

She topped all four problems in the final—an unmatched feat in the event—but her singular victory was not enough to surpass Bertone’s season-long consistency.

Mao Nakamura of Japan concluded the season as runner-up in the women’s rankings, while 17-year-old American rising star Annie Sanders achieved an impressive third-place finish.

China’s Zhang Yuetong, however, saw her season cut short due to a hand ligament injury sustained in Innsbruck. Despite the setback, she showed great promise with two semifinal appearances and a final overall ranking of 31st.
