Apple is set to expand its Apple Intelligence feature to nine additional languages in April, making the AI-powered system more accessible worldwide.
The announcement was made by Apple CEO Tim Cook during the company’s Q4 2024 earnings call.
Apple Intelligence Gets Major Language Expansion
Initially launched with the Apple iPhone 16 series in September 2024, Apple Intelligence has been limited to English in most regions.
However, Apple is now broadening its support to include French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. Additionally, localized English versions will be available in Singapore and India.
Interestingly, Apple’s support page also lists Vietnamese as part of this expansion, despite Cook not mentioning it during the earnings call. This means that Apple Intelligence will soon support a total of nine new languages. The update will be rolled out via a software update in April.
Where Apple Intelligence Is Available
Currently, Apple Intelligence is accessible only in select regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa. Users in these countries can access the AI system on Apple devices running iOS 18.2 or later, iPadOS 18.2 or later, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 or later.
Apple Intelligence enhances user experience through advanced AI capabilities, such as smart text suggestions, image generation, and personalized app recommendations. By expanding its language support, Apple is making these AI-powered features more inclusive for a global audience.
Apple’s Growing AI Focus
Apple’s move to extend Apple Intelligence to more languages aligns with its broader push into artificial intelligence. With competitors like Google and Microsoft heavily investing in AI-driven experiences, Apple’s expansion signals its commitment to maintaining a competitive edge.
As April approaches, users worldwide can look forward to a more localized and accessible Apple Intelligence experience, further integrating AI into daily tasks.
