The Apple iPhone 17e is expected to launch in Pakistan soon through Mercantile Pakistan, the official distributor of Apple products in the country. The new smartphone was recently introduced globally as Apple’s latest budget-friendly iPhone, bringing performance improvements and new connectivity features while keeping the same starting price.
Apple began its latest product announcement week with the unveiling of the iPhone 17e, positioning it as an affordable entry point into the iPhone ecosystem. While the device retains a design similar to last year’s model, it introduces several key upgrades aimed at improving performance and usability.
At the core of the iPhone 17e is Apple’s new Apple A19 chip, paired with a 4-core GPU. The new processor promises faster performance and improved energy efficiency, helping the device handle everyday tasks, multitasking, and mobile gaming more smoothly. Apple has also introduced the new Apple C1X modem, designed to provide stronger network stability and more reliable connectivity across supported networks.
The smartphone features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2532 × 1170 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. Apple has enhanced durability with Ceramic Shield 2, which aims to offer better resistance against drops and scratches. The display continues to use the familiar notch design that houses the Face ID system along with a 12MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
On the back, the iPhone 17e includes a 48MP primary camera with optical image stabilization. The camera supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second with Dolby Vision. Apple says its updated image processing technology improves portrait photography, delivering clearer subject detail and more natural background blur.
One of the notable upgrades is support for MagSafe, allowing compatibility with a variety of magnetic accessories such as chargers and wallets. The device also supports 15W wireless charging along with faster wired charging.
Other features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, satellite connectivity, eSIM support, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The phone runs on iOS 26 and includes Apple Intelligence features for enhanced user experiences.
Globally, the iPhone 17e starts at $599 for the 256GB model, while the 512GB version costs $799. The device will be available in Black, White, and Soft Pink colors. Pre-orders began on March 4, with global sales starting March 11, while its Pakistan launch is expected soon through Mercantile.
