Apple’s latest flagship reportedly reaches 50% charge in just 15 minutes, making it the fastest-charging iPhone to date.

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max is set to deliver a major improvement in charging performance, with the flagship reportedly reaching 50% charge in just 15 minutes.

The figure was highlighted in a recent post by Ice Universe on X and matches Apple’s claim made during the device’s announcement. The improvement marks a significant change for Apple, which has historically placed less emphasis on charging speeds than several Android rivals.

According to reported charging tests, the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches 34% in 10 minutes and displays a full 100% charge after around 55 minutes. However, the device reportedly continues charging for approximately 76 minutes before the charging process fully stops.

Major Upgrade Over iPhone 17 Pro Max

The charging figures represent a notable improvement over the previous generation.

In testing of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the device reached around 38% after 15 minutes and displayed 100% charge after approximately 72 minutes. The previous model recorded a peak charging power of about 35W.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max, meanwhile, can reportedly reach a peak of approximately 52W, representing a substantial increase in charging power.

The faster charging capability is particularly notable because the new flagship also features a larger battery than its predecessor.

Larger Battery and 2nm Chip

The improved charging performance comes alongside other hardware changes. The iPhone 18 Pro Max reportedly features a larger battery than the iPhone 17 Pro Max and is powered by Apple’s 2nm chip, which is expected to deliver greater efficiency.

The combination could help Apple offer faster charging while maintaining improved power efficiency despite the larger battery capacity.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Still Charges Faster

Despite the improvement, Apple’s flagship does not necessarily match the fastest charging performance among competing premium smartphones.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra reportedly reaches 51% charge in around 15 minutes and displays a full charge after approximately 43 minutes.

The Samsung device, however, has a smaller battery than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, meaning the charging comparison is not based on identical battery capacities.

Nevertheless, the charging upgrade represents a significant step for Apple and makes the iPhone 18 Pro Max the fastest-charging iPhone yet.
