Apple has officially expanded its refurbished product lineup by adding the iPhone 16 series to its online store. Starting today, customers can purchase officially refurbished versions of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max at significantly reduced prices compared to their original retail costs.
The refurbished iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are discounted against Apple’s current new pricing, while the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are offered at reduced rates compared to their original launch prices from September 2024. Notably, the Pro models are no longer sold as brand-new units, making the refurbished store the only official way to buy them directly from Apple.
Depending on the model, the discounts range from around 12% to as much as 22%. The standard iPhone 16, which launched at $799 and is currently sold new for $699, is now available refurbished for $619.
The larger iPhone 16 Plus drops from its current $799 new price to $699 in refurbished condition. For buyers interested in premium models, the refurbished iPhone 16 Pro is priced at $759, down from its original $999 launch price, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is available for $929, compared to its initial $1,199 price tag.
Apple’s refurbished iPhones come with several benefits that set them apart from third-party refurbished devices. Each unit is fully unlocked and includes a brand-new battery and a new outer shell, ensuring both performance and cosmetic quality. The phones are shipped in a plain box and include a USB-C charging cable.
In addition, all refurbished iPhone 16 models are thoroughly cleaned, tested, and inspected by Apple. The company states that these devices are virtually indistinguishable from brand-new iPhones. They also come with Apple’s standard warranty and are eligible for extended protection through AppleCare+ or AppleCare One.
For customers looking to save money without compromising on quality or support, Apple’s refurbished iPhone 16 lineup offers a compelling alternative to buying new, especially for discontinued Pro models that are no longer available at retail.
