Apple TV to Stream MLS Matches Free 2026

Apple has officially confirmed that all Major League Soccer (MLS) matches will be available to Apple TV subscribers at no additional cost starting with the 2026 season.

This marks the end of the current MLS Season Pass model, which costs fans $15 per month and runs until the conclusion of the 2025 season.

Currently, even Apple TV subscribers—which pay $13 per month for the service—do not receive any discount on the MLS Season Pass. However, beginning in 2026, anyone with an Apple TV subscription will gain full access to every MLS match without paying extra.

What Matches Will Be Free on Apple TV?

From 2026 onwards, Apple TV subscribers will be able to stream the complete lineup of MLS events, including:

All regular-season matches

The annual Leagues Cup tournament

The MLS All-Star Game

The Campeones Cup

The full Audi MLS Cup Playoffs

This comprehensive access replaces the paid Season Pass system and significantly boosts the value of a standard Apple TV subscription.

Apple’s Growing Sports Streaming Strategy

The move isn’t entirely unexpected. Last year, Apple made the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs free for all Apple TV subscribers, signaling the company’s interest in expanding its sports streaming catalog without additional fees. Apple TV also provides studio programming, expert analysis, and on-demand sports content to complement live matches.

Beyond soccer, Apple TV currently offers Friday Night Baseball at no extra charge and recently secured exclusive U.S. broadcast rights for Formula 1, further enhancing its sports offering. With such major sports content becoming included in the standard subscription, industry analysts believe Apple’s current $13/month pricing may eventually rise.

A Shifting Streaming Landscape

Interestingly, news of Apple’s MLS expansion first surfaced on ESPN, which is owned by Disney—currently involved in a distribution dispute with YouTube TV. This highlights growing tensions within the streaming industry as platforms compete aggressively for premium sports rights.

With Apple removing paywalls and pushing deeper into live sports, the streaming landscape may be headed for significant changes in the coming years.
