Apple has announced visionOS 26, the latest update for its Vision Pro headset, introducing major advancements in spatial computing.

The update brings immersive new experiences, AI-powered enhancements, and expanded tools for developers, creators, and enterprise users.

With visionOS 26, widgets become spatial, allowing users to place interactive tools like Clock, Weather, Music, and Photos anywhere in their environment. These widgets appear automatically whenever Vision Pro is worn, offering quick access to personalized content.

Personas—Apple’s digital representations of users—have received a major upgrade, offering greater realism with detailed hair, skin texture, and expressive movements. Users can also customize their Personas, including eyewear options.

One of the standout features is Spatial Scenes, which use generative AI and computational depth to turn spatial photos into lifelike, three-dimensional environments. Supported by the new Spatial Scene API, this opens up new possibilities for apps like Zillow Immersive, allowing users to explore homes with depth and dimension.

Apple is also expanding content options, with native support for 180-degree, 360-degree, and wide field-of-view videos from GoPro, Insta360, and Canon. Gaming sees a boost too, thanks to compatibility with PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, enabling high-precision gameplay.

Shared spatial experiences now allow multiple Vision Pro users in the same room to watch movies, play games, or collaborate. Remote participants can join via FaceTime, making collaboration more dynamic.

For enterprises, visionOS 26 introduces new APIs and management tools. Features like device sharing and secure content access help businesses streamline operations. Logitech Muse, a new spatial accessory, enhances interaction in professional apps like Spatial Analogue.

The update also brings Apple Intelligence features, more language support, a redesigned Control Center, and eye-based navigation with “Look to Scroll.” Users can now unlock iPhones while in full immersive mode and take calls directly from Vision Pro.

visionOS 26 is now available for developers and will roll out to the public later this year.
