Apple has officially unveiled its new 14-inch MacBook Pro and Vision Pro headset, both powered by the all-new M5 chip, marking a major leap in performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities.

The M5 chip replaces the M2 in the Vision Pro and the M4 in the MacBook Pro, bringing substantial improvements across the board.

The MacBook Pro 14” with M5 delivers up to 3.5x faster AI performance than its M4 predecessor and a 6x improvement over the M1 generation. It features a 10-core CPU (four performance and six efficiency cores) and a 10-core GPU, each with its own Neural Accelerator. The 16-core Neural Engine enhances AI processing, while the 153GB/s memory bandwidth provides a 30% boost compared to the previous model.

One of the most impressive upgrades is the battery life, now reaching up to 24 hours on a single charge. Despite retaining the same 72.4Wh battery and 70W USB-C charger, Apple achieved this through advanced optimizations in the M5 chip.

Design and hardware remain familiar, featuring a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with a 3024×1964 resolution, 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, and 1,600 nits peak HDR brightness.

The laptop includes a 12MP Center Stage webcam, MagSafe charging, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, SDXC card slot, and headphone jack. Connectivity is supported via Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The MacBook Pro M5 comes in Space Black and Silver, starting at $1,599 / €1,799 / £1,599 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model. Pre-orders are live in multiple regions, with shipments starting October 22, 2025.

The M5-powered Vision Pro sees a 10% boost in display clarity and a 120Hz refresh rate. AI-driven features now run 50% faster in Apple apps and 2x faster in third-party ones. Battery life extends up to 3 hours of video playback.

Apple also introduced a new Dual Knit Band for $99, compatible with both M5 and M2 Vision Pro models. The M5 Vision Pro retains its $3,499 / €3,699 / £3,199 price tag and will also ship on October 22.
