Ariana Grande Reflects on Emotional Wicked: For Good Experience

Pop icon Ariana Grande has reflected on one of the most nerve-racking yet fulfilling moments from filming Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated sequel to Wicked: Part One.

While both parts of the musical fantasy were filmed simultaneously, the second film featured one surprise twist — an original song created specifically for Grande’s character Glinda and Cynthia Erivo’s character Elphaba.

Speaking to reporters, Grande described performing “The Girl in the Bubble,” a brand-new song written by Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz, as “the privilege of a lifetime.” However, she admitted that it also came with immense pressure.

“To be trusted with that was all of the right kinds of nerve-wracking and such an honour,” Grande shared during a press conference.

She went on to explain that the song captures a turning point in Glinda’s journey:

“It’s such a narrative piece — we see her choosing to become truly good, not just performing goodness. She puts down the wand and finds her real self.”

Grande also highlighted how the song allowed her to explore new vocal dynamics and emotional range.

“Halfway through, when she looks back at her memories, her voice opens up — it’s like her guard drops completely.”

Wicked: For Good continues the story after the dramatic choices made by Glinda and Elphaba at the end of Part One and is set to hit theatres worldwide on November 21, 2025.
