Ariana Grande has revealed that she has tested positive for COVID-19, putting an unexpected pause on her busy Wicked: For Good press tour. The singer and actress shared the news on social media, posting a black-and-white snapshot from her recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

She captioned the photo “moments before Covid,” highlighting the abrupt turn of events, according to Variety.

The timing of her diagnosis coincides with co-star Cynthia Erivo’s recent illness, which also forced Erivo to step away from press activities. With both leading stars unwell, the film’s promotional schedule has been significantly impacted. Ariana opted out of all scheduled interviews in solidarity with Cynthia and due to her own health concerns.

As part of the changes, Ariana has cancelled her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show and will not attend the upcoming Wicked: For Good Q&A session, a key event for fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release.

This is not Ariana’s first battle with COVID. During the initial shooting phase of Wicked, both she and Cynthia contracted the virus, briefly halting production. Their return to the press circuit had been highly anticipated by fans.

Despite these setbacks, excitement continues to build around Wicked: For Good, which is set to hit cinemas on November 21. Early box office projections suggest the movie could generate up to $180 million during its opening weekend, signaling strong demand for the long-awaited musical adaptation.
