Ariana Grande is celebrating another milestone in her career just as she gears up for her first world tour in seven years. The pop icon, who last performed live in 2018 and 2019, is making a powerful return to the global music stage.
According to Variety, music licensing giant SESAC has named Ariana Grande its Songwriter of the Year, recognizing her lyrical talent and artistry. The honor came largely due to her track We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love), featured as the tenth song on her latest album, Eternal Sunshine. The single not only struck a chord with fans worldwide but also secured Grande’s seventh debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. With this achievement, she now holds the record for the most number-one debuts by a female artist in chart history.
Grande shared her gratitude on Instagram, writing: “Thank you so much for this incredible honor. I am so, so moved and grateful.”
Over the years, Grande has grown into one of the most influential voices in pop music. Since her debut in 2013 with Yours Truly, she has released seven studio albums and amassed an impressive collection of accolades, including Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and a Brit Award. She also holds more than 39 Guinness World Records tied to her chart-topping success.
Currently, Grande is promoting the highly anticipated second installment of the Wicked film series, where she stars as Glinda. The movie is scheduled for release on November 21, adding another exciting chapter to her ever-evolving career.
