Pakistan’s javelin star Arshad Nadeem produced an 80.29-meter throw but could not secure a podium finish in the Asian Games final.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem finished fourth in the javelin throw final at the Asian Games, ending his medal hopes despite recording an 80.29-meter effort during the competition.

Nadeem opened his campaign with a throw of 76.69 meters. He improved his distance with his third attempt, reaching 80.29 meters, but the mark was not enough to place him among the medal winners.

His second, fourth, fifth and sixth attempts were recorded as fouls, leaving him with only two valid throws. As a result, Nadeem was unable to make further progress in the medal standings and ultimately finished fourth overall.

Gold Medal Winner

Sri Lanka’s Ramesh Pathirage claimed the gold medal with an impressive throw of 88.55 meters. His winning distance gave him a significant advantage over the rest of the field and secured Sri Lanka the top position in the javelin competition.

Nadeem’s 80.29-meter effort left him outside the podium positions, despite his status as one of Pakistan’s leading track and field athletes.

Asian Games Campaign

The fourth-place finish means Pakistan’s javelin thrower will leave the event without a medal from this final. His performance nevertheless included an 80-meter-plus throw, showing his ability to produce a strong effort under competition conditions.

For Nadeem, the result will be a disappointing conclusion to his Asian Games campaign, particularly after he was unable to register valid marks in four of his six attempts.

The javelin throw final ultimately belonged to Pathirage, whose 88.55-meter effort secured the gold medal. Nadeem, meanwhile, settled for fourth place after failing to improve on his 80.29-meter mark in his remaining attempts.
