The Green Shirts secured their second straight victory and will now face unbeaten hosts Japan in their final league-stage fixture.
The Pakistan men’s volleyball team continued its impressive campaign at the Asian Games 2026 by defeating Uzbekistan 3-0 in their Pool A encounter at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium on Monday.
Pakistan established control from the beginning and comfortably secured the opening set 25-18 in 21 minutes. The Green Shirts maintained their intensity in the second set and produced another 25-18 scoreline, putting themselves within one set of completing a straight-set victory.
Uzbekistan showed greater resistance during the third set and kept Pakistan under pressure for longer periods. However, the Green Shirts remained composed and eventually closed out the set 25-20 after 23 minutes, completing another convincing win in the competition.
Opposite Murad Khan was Pakistan’s leading scorer, contributing 14 points. His tally included 12 successful spikes. Musawer Khan followed closely with 13 points, while Muhammad Hamad and Ali Usman Faryad added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Pakistan also held a clear advantage in several key statistical areas. The team registered 75 attack points compared with Uzbekistan’s 56. The Green Shirts also recorded five blocks against Uzbekistan’s three and produced four service points compared with two for their opponents.
Pakistan’s aggressive approach also resulted in 20 errors from Uzbekistan, while the Green Shirts committed 18 errors during the match.
The result gave Pakistan their second consecutive victory in the men’s volleyball competition at the Asian Games 2026. They had previously opened their campaign with a 3-1 win over Kazakhstan, giving them a strong start in Pool A.
Pakistan will now meet host nation Japan in their final league-stage match on Tuesday at the same venue. Japan have also remained unbeaten, recording straight-set victories against Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in their opening two fixtures.
The upcoming match will provide Pakistan with another major test as they look to build on their winning run in the Asian Games volleyball competition.
