Arshad Nadeem Receives Hero’s Welcome on Return to Pakistan

Lahore – Javelin sensation Arshad Nadeem was met with a jubilant homecoming on Saturday night as he arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, following his historic victory at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The Olympic gold medalist, who ended a 40-year wait for Pakistan with his incredible performance, was welcomed by thousands of ecstatic fans and high-ranking officials, all eager to celebrate his remarkable achievement.

The airport was transformed into a sea of green and white, as supporters from all walks of life, including Nadeem’s family, gathered to greet their national hero. The atmosphere was electric, with fans chanting Nadeem’s name and waving Pakistani flags in a show of immense pride. The crowd included prominent figures such as Federal Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Prime Minister’s Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashhood, and Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima, who were all present to extend their heartfelt congratulations to Nadeem.

Nadeem arrived on a Turkish Airlines flight, which was given a traditional water cannon salute as it touched down, marking the significance of his achievement. The gold medalist, who set a new Olympic record in the javelin throw, was visibly moved by the overwhelming reception. In a brief interaction with the media, he expressed his deep gratitude to Allah Almighty for blessing him with the strength and skill to achieve such a feat.
