AS Maths S1 Paper Leak Allegations Spark Outrage Among Students

CAIE

Reports of another alleged Cambridge exam paper leak have created panic and frustration among AS Level students in Pakistan, with claims that the entire Mathematics S1 Paper 52 was circulated online before the examination began.

According to several students, the leaked paper was identified as Mathematics (9709) Paper 52 under Cambridge Assessment International Education. Candidates allege that screenshots and complete questions were shared across social media platforms and WhatsApp groups nearly two hours before the scheduled exam.

However, it is important to note that Cambridge authorities and relevant educational bodies have not officially confirmed the leak so far.

Students who appeared in the examination claimed they realized after the paper that many of the same questions had already been circulating online. The reports quickly spread across social media, triggering widespread criticism and concern among candidates and parents alike.

Many students expressed disappointment over the situation, saying months of preparation may have been undermined if the allegations are proven true. “We spent months studying for this paper, and now it feels unfair if some students had prior access,” one student said.

The alleged incident has once again raised concerns regarding the security of international examinations in Pakistan. Several students are now questioning whether Cambridge Assessment International Education will launch a formal investigation or announce retakes in case the leak is verified.

Adding to the controversy, students have also reported another alleged paper leak involving AS Sociology (9699). According to claims circulating online, that paper was also shared in WhatsApp groups and on social media before the exam commenced.

Unconfirmed reports regarding leaks of additional AS Level subjects, including Business and Computer Science, are also being discussed online. However, no official statement has yet been issued regarding these claims.

The growing controversy has left students anxious about the credibility and fairness of the examination process, while many await an official response from Cambridge authorities regarding the allegations.
