Abu Dhabi, September 15, 2025 – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) secured a convincing 42-run victory over Oman in the 7th match of the Asia Cup 2025, held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

The result not only boosted UAE’s confidence but also placed them firmly on the points table, while Oman continued their search for a maiden win in Group A.

Batting first, UAE posted a formidable total of 175 for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Muhammad Wasim led from the front with an aggressive 69-run knock, well supported by Alishan Sharafu, who added 51 runs to the scoreboard. Their partnership laid the foundation for a competitive total that put Oman under pressure right from the start.

In reply, Oman’s batting lineup faltered against disciplined bowling. Despite showing glimpses of resistance, they were bundled out for 130 runs in 18.4 overs, falling well short of the target. Junaid Siddique emerged as the star performer for UAE, claiming four wickets for just 23 runs, dismantling Oman’s middle order and sealing the game in his team’s favor.

With this defeat, Oman remain the only side in Group A yet to register a win, raising questions about their consistency and form in the tournament. For UAE, however, the victory signals strong momentum as they push towards securing a semi-final berth in the Asia Cup 2025.
