CDF Asim Munir says Indian proxies will be defeated through national resolve

Army chief highlights peace, youth empowerment and development as key to Balochistan’s future

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that the designs of Indian proxies will be defeated through the collective resolve of the nation and the state’s unwavering and decisive response.

Addressing notables and political leaders from Balochistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir said foreign-sponsored groups were being used by hostile elements to destabilise the province, obstruct its development and create divisions between the state and its people.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief described Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan as foreign-sponsored proxies involved in efforts to undermine peace and stability in Balochistan.

He stressed that the future of Balochistan and Pakistan was “one and inseparable”, while highlighting the province’s talented, resilient and patriotic population.

Peace vital for Balochistan’s economic potential

Field Marshal Asim Munir said a clear national narrative, along with lasting peace and stability, was essential to unlocking Balochistan’s economic potential.

He said these conditions would help attract investment and enable the province to convert its substantial human and natural resources into tangible prosperity for its people.

The COAS particularly highlighted the province’s youth, describing them as its most vibrant and promising segment.

He said there was no shortage of talent or opportunities among young people in Balochistan and stressed that empowering them and providing opportunities to participate in national development was essential for sustainable progress.

COAS calls for countering hostile propaganda

Field Marshal Asim Munir appreciated the role of Balochistan’s tribal elders, community leaders and other notables in promoting peace, strengthening social cohesion and encouraging constructive national discourse.

He called for hostile propaganda to be countered comprehensively and without hesitation, while emphasising the need to expose false narratives and highlight the potential, progress and aspirations of Balochistan and its people.

The army chief said the destiny of Balochistan rested in the hands of its people.

Balochistan leaders reaffirm support for peace

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to peace, development and prosperity in Balochistan and Pakistan.

They expressed their resolve to stand alongside the state and armed forces against what they described as foreign-sponsored threats to peace and stability.

The participants also pledged to support people-centric development aimed at building a peaceful, stable and prosperous Balochistan while countering hostile narratives and promoting what they described as the truth about the province and its people.
