ISLAMABAD, April 11 – Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has departed for the United States to attend the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. from April 13 to 18, the finance ministry said on Saturday.
Ahead of the formal meetings, Aurangzeb will visit Boston to participate in the Pakistan Conference at Harvard University, where he is expected to engage with academics, policymakers and members of the Pakistani diaspora. The minister will outline Pakistan’s economic outlook, ongoing reforms and long-term growth strategy, officials said.
During the Spring Meetings, Aurangzeb is scheduled to take part in a series of high-level discussions, policy dialogues and bilateral meetings with global financial leaders, development partners and investors. The engagements are expected to focus on Pakistan’s macroeconomic stability, fiscal consolidation efforts and structural reforms aimed at sustaining growth.
Officials said the visit comes at a critical time as Pakistan seeks to strengthen its external position, secure financial support and attract foreign investment. The minister is also expected to hold meetings with representatives of international financial institutions to discuss ongoing programs and future cooperation.
The Spring Meetings bring together finance ministers, central bank governors and senior officials from across the world to discuss global economic challenges, development priorities and financial stability.
