The meeting took place at the Finance Division, where both sides exchanged views on economic stability, reform measures and broader international cooperation.

During the discussion, Aurangzeb outlined the government’s assessment of the evolving global economic environment and its implications for Pakistan, particularly amid regional geopolitical tensions and volatility in international energy markets.

He briefed the UK envoy on ongoing efforts to preserve macroeconomic stability, manage external sector pressures and maintain momentum on structural reforms aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth.

The finance minister highlighted improvements in key economic indicators, including stability in the external account, strong remittance inflows and growing investor confidence.

He also shared details of measures to expand the tax base, improve revenue collection, strengthen compliance and enhance transparency through digitalization and technology-driven reforms.

Officials said discussions also emphasized the importance of effective communication and public engagement to sustain support for the reform agenda.

Regional and global developments, including their economic and humanitarian implications, were also discussed. Both sides stressed the need for dialogue, international cooperation and coordinated efforts to address challenges affecting global supply chains and economic stability.
