Basseterre, July 28, 2025 – Australia will look to complete a dominant clean sweep when they face West Indies in the fifth and final T20I at Warner Park, Basseterre, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Having already crushed the hosts 3-0 in the Test series and taken a commanding 4-0 lead in the ongoing T20I series, Australia are eyeing a flawless 5-0 result.
Throughout the series, Australia have demonstrated their depth and dominance. Cameron Green has been in stellar form, notching up three half-centuries in four matches. Glenn Maxwell has provided explosive starts, while Josh Inglis has maintained pressure in the middle overs with aggressive strokeplay. Mitchell Owen has impressed on debut, and Tim David’s stunning 37-ball century in the third T20I remains a standout moment.
Skipper Mitchell Marsh has yet to make a big contribution and could be primed for a match-winning performance in the finale. In the bowling department, Adam Zampa continues to shine with his sharp leg-spin, well-supported by seamers Ben Dwarshuis and Nathan Ellis. With the series already sealed, Australia may rotate players to test their bench strength ahead of future tournaments.
For West Indies, it’s been a tour of missed chances. While Shai Hope and Brandon King have shown flashes of form, the batting unit has lacked cohesion. Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd have offered all-round value, but inconsistent performances from Sherfane Rutherford and Shimron Hetmyer have hurt the middle order. Despite Alzarri Joseph’s pace and spells from Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie, the bowling attack has failed to defend totals—conceding over 200 runs twice this series.
With a flat Warner Park pitch expected to favor batters, West Indies will need a monumental turnaround to stop Australia and avoid their third consecutive T20I whitewash defeat.
