Cricket Australia (CA) has officially confirmed that the Australian men’s cricket team will tour Pakistan for a white-ball series in early 2026. This confirmation came from CA Chief Executive Officer Todd Greenberg during a recent online press conference.

Greenberg expressed strong enthusiasm about the upcoming series, emphasizing the positive relationship between Cricket Australia and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He stated, “I believe it will be another good tour of Pakistan. The series is an important part of our schedule.” He also added that both Australia and Pakistan are eager to explore more bilateral cricket opportunities in the future.

According to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Future Tours Program (FTP) for 2025–2027, the Australia-Pakistan white-ball series will take place in February–March 2026 and will include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

This upcoming tour will mark Australia’s return to Pakistan after their historic 2022 visit, which ended a 24-year absence. That tour featured a full red-ball and white-ball schedule, including Tests, ODIs, and a T20I, and was praised globally for the warm reception and high-quality cricket. Greenberg recalled the 2022 tour fondly, saying it was a major success and one that Cricket Australia is eager to replicate.

Pakistan and Australia last faced off in Australia in November 2024. Pakistan won the ODI series 2-1 under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan — their first one-day series victory on Australian soil since 2002. However, Australia bounced back to win the T20I series 3-0.

Greenberg also discussed the potential for increased Pakistani participation in the Big Bash League (BBL). He acknowledged the growing popularity of Pakistani cricketers in Australia, stating, “There is no doubt Pakistani players are very popular within the community. If top Pakistani players come, they will enjoy it here, and the league will benefit.”

While negotiations are ongoing, CA is working to bring more Pakistani players into the BBL’s next edition. Greenberg emphasized that the goal is to strengthen ties between Australia and Pakistan not just at the international level, but across domestic competitions as well.

This tour reflects a continued commitment to cricket diplomacy and the growing sporting partnership between Australia and Pakistan.
