Marvel’s highly anticipated team-up film is set to run for 165 minutes and will arrive in cinemas on December 18.
Disney has expanded ticket sales for Avengers: Doomsday to include all theatres showing the highly anticipated Marvel team-up film, following the early sale of premium-format tickets last month.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the expanded ticket sales have also revealed a reported runtime of 165 minutes, or two hours and 45 minutes. While the film’s final cut may still undergo changes before its release, the early ticket schedule suggests that any adjustment to the runtime is likely to be relatively small.
Avengers: Doomsday will bring together a large ensemble of Marvel characters as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes face a new threat in Doctor Doom, played by former Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr.
The cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.
The film also stars Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi and Letitia Wright as Shuri. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Rebecca Romijn are also returning as Professor X, Magneto and Mystique, respectively.
Avengers: Doomsday release date
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to open in cinemas on December 18.
The Marvel blockbuster will face competition from another major franchise release, Dune: Part Three, which is also expected to be one of the year’s biggest theatrical attractions.
Ahead of Doomsday, Disney is also bringing Avengers: Endgame back to cinemas on September 25 under the title Avengers: Endgame Encore.
Endgame remains one of the highest-grossing films in box office history, with approximately $2.8 billion in worldwide earnings, behind only Avatar according to the information provided.
The re-release is expected to give Marvel fans another opportunity to experience the previous Avengers finale on the big screen before Doomsday introduces the next major chapter of the franchise.
