Sharjah, October 6, 2025 – Bangladesh wrapped up a dominant performance in the three-match T20I series by sealing a comprehensive six-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the final game at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

With this win, Bangladesh completed a clean sweep, showcasing consistency and confidence across all departments.

Captain Jaker Ali lifted the trophy amid jubilant celebrations as Bangladesh celebrated their flawless campaign. Speaking after the win, Ali expressed satisfaction with his team’s comeback following a disappointing Asia Cup, crediting strong preparation and collective effort from the bowling, batting, and fielding units.

For Afghanistan, skipper Rashid Khan admitted his side played poor cricket, acknowledging Bangladesh’s superiority in all areas. He emphasized the need for his team to rediscover their attacking mindset and improve their top-order performance before the upcoming ODI series, which begins in Abu Dhabi on October 8.

Nasum Ahmed was named Player of the Series for his consistent bowling performances, while Saif Hassan earned the Player of the Match award for his match-winning half-century that anchored the successful run chase. Hassan credited the coaching staff for providing a clear plan, allowing him to play with greater freedom and purpose.

Afghanistan’s bowlers, including Mujeeb Ur Rahman, struggled to contain Bangladesh’s disciplined batting lineup. Rashid Khan went wicketless, while Mohammad Nabi was surprisingly unused. The Afghan batters once again faltered under pressure, failing to post competitive totals throughout the series.

A calm and composed batting display ensured Bangladesh cruised home comfortably, marking a memorable 3-0 whitewash. The result boosts Bangladesh’s T20I confidence ahead of their next assignments, while Afghanistan will look to regroup and address key weaknesses before the ODI leg.
