Karachi, March 1, 2025 – With the holy month of Ramadan approaching, citizens across Pakistan are keenly awaiting the announcement of revised bank timings to plan their financial transactions accordingly.
As per tradition, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is expected to issue an official notification soon, detailing the adjusted bank timings during Ramadan 2025.
So far, no official notification has been released by the SBP regarding the new bank timings, primarily because March 3, 2025, has been declared a bank holiday for Zakat deduction. However, if past years serve as a guideline, it is anticipated that Ramadan 2025 bank timings will closely follow the schedule implemented in previous years.
During Ramadan 2024, the SBP had set the following office and bank timings for financial institutions, including commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs):
Office Hours During Ramadan (2024)
• Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Prayer Break: 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM)
• Friday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM (Without Break)
Public Dealing (Banking) Hours During Ramadan (2024)
• Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Without Break)
• Friday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM (Without Break)
Once Ramadan concludes, bank timings will automatically revert to the pre-Ramadan schedule.
As businesses and individuals prepare for the sacred month, the expected adjustments in bank timings will play a crucial role in managing daily financial activities. The reduced working hours allow employees and customers to balance their professional and religious commitments effectively.
Financial institutions are likely to follow similar patterns for Ramadan 2025, ensuring that customers can carry out transactions smoothly. The SBP’s official announcement regarding bank timings is anticipated in the coming days, after which all banks will implement the revised schedule accordingly.
For the latest updates, citizens are advised to stay tuned to the SBP’s official website and bank notifications to ensure seamless banking operations throughout Ramadan 2025.
