FC Barcelona staged an impressive comeback on Thursday night, defeating Oviedo 3-1 away from home to maintain pressure at the top of La Liga. The victory ensured that Barcelona remain just two points adrift of leaders Real Madrid in the standings.

The match started with a shock for the visitors when newly promoted Oviedo took the lead in the 33rd minute. Alberto Reina capitalized on a costly error from goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who found himself stranded far outside his penalty area, allowing Reina to score from nearly 45 meters with a remarkable strike.

After halftime, Barcelona increased their tempo and found the equalizer in the 55th minute. Ferran Torres’ effort was deflected into the path of Eric Garcia, who calmly slotted home from close range. The comeback gathered pace in the 70th minute when Robert Lewandowski, fresh off the bench, rose high to head in Frenkie de Jong’s precise cross, giving Barcelona the advantage. Ronald Araujo sealed the victory two minutes from time after converting Marcus Rashford’s clever assist, putting the game beyond doubt.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Osasuna earned an early lead against Elche thanks to a stunning strike from Victor Munoz. Despite dominating the first half, Osasuna conceded after the break when Adria Pedroza punished a defensive mistake, ensuring Elche remain unbeaten in six matches.

Earlier in the week, Real Madrid recorded a 4-1 win away at Levante, while Atletico Madrid narrowly overcame Rayo Vallecano 3-2.
