Beijing-Hyundai Elexio EO Electric SUV Launches October 16

The Beijing-Hyundai joint venture has officially announced that its first pure electric SUV, the Elexio EO, will roll off the production line on October 16, with pre-sales starting the same day.

Built on Hyundai’s advanced E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), the Elexio EO marks a major milestone for the company’s transition toward electrification in China.

The Elexio EO is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SA8295P automotive chip and offers an impressive CLTC driving range of up to 722 km, positioning it among the most efficient electric SUVs in its segment.

In terms of design, the Elexio EO draws inspiration from the Morse code “H”, symbolizing Hyundai. Its signature quad-dot LED headlights feature 152 individual LED units and are paired with a sleek through-type light strip for a futuristic look. From the side, the SUV features a sloping roofline, hidden door handles, and a stylish contrasting D-pillar design. At the rear, the color-accented trim strip, wraparound roof design, and integrated rearview camera enhance the vehicle’s visual appeal.

Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4615 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1675 mm in height, with a 2750 mm wheelbase. Buyers can choose from seven exterior colors, including purple, silver, blue, black, gray, pearl white, and matte white.

The Elexio EO will be offered in FWD and AWD configurations. The FWD model features a 160 kW (215 hp) motor, while the AWD adds a 73 kW (98 hp) rear motor for enhanced performance. Battery options range from 64.2 kWh to 88.1 kWh, offering CLTC ranges between 518 km and 722 km. The EV supports fast charging, enabling a 30% to 80% charge in just 27 minutes.

Inside, the Elexio EO offers a 27-inch 4K integrated display, HUD system, and 29 storage compartments, blending technology and practicality.

Looking ahead, Beijing-Hyundai plans to launch two to three new energy vehicles annually over the next four years, covering BEV, PHEV, and EREV models across multiple segments.
