Legal fight over fees and retaliation claims continues despite partial settlement in dispute involving ‘It Ends With Us’

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni remain locked in a legal dispute despite reportedly resolving part of their courtroom battle earlier this month.

According to newly filed court documents, both sides are continuing to argue over legal fees and protections tied to California law, including whether Lively can recover attorney costs linked to her claims of retaliation and defamation.

Lawyers associated with Wayfarer Studios argued that the actress withdrew some remaining claims without receiving financial compensation, despite previously seeking substantial damages.

A source close to the It Ends With Us actress said the case was “never really about money,” adding that Lively wanted to expose individuals she believed were involved in harmful behind-the-scenes conduct.

Baldoni had earlier filed a major countersuit against Lively, though several portions of the case were later dismissed by the court. However, some retaliation-related issues remain active.

The two sides are also disputing who should be considered the prevailing party in the litigation.

Lively’s legal team described the partial settlement as a significant victory, while Baldoni’s attorney argued that his client had achieved the stronger legal outcome.

The dispute began after Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and alleged that a smear campaign had been orchestrated against her. Baldoni has denied the allegations throughout the proceedings.

Neither party has publicly commented on the latest court filings.
