Blake Lively is facing a lawsuit from actor and director Justin Baldoni over his involvement in the film It Ends With Us.
Baldoni, who also starred in the movie, claims in court documents that Lively actively undermined his role and creative authority throughout the film’s promotion.
The lawsuit, obtained by Us Weekly, accuses Lively of systematically excluding Baldoni from key aspects of the movie’s marketing.
Baldoni argues that he was sidelined during the promotional campaign and that Lively worked to strip him of his creative contributions.
In addition, Baldoni alleges that Lively initially prevented him from attending the film’s premiere, only relenting after significant pressure. However, the conditions he faced were reportedly humiliating.
According to the legal filing, Baldoni and his team were segregated from the main cast, barred from the exclusive after-party, and forced to organize their own event at their own expense.
The lawsuit also details an upsetting incident during the premiere itself. Baldoni claims his participation on the red carpet was abruptly cut short, and his family and friends were placed in a makeshift holding area in the basement.
After Lively left, they were escorted to a separate theater, further emphasizing the alleged mistreatment.
Baldoni also accuses Lively of undermining his work on the film, claiming that she “robbed him and his team of any opportunity to celebrate their hard work.” He goes on to say that Lively not only took control of the film but also diminished the contributions of Baldoni and his team.
Furthermore, the lawsuit implicates Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, accusing the couple of using “bullying tactics” to harm Baldoni’s career.
The filing alleges that Reynolds attempted to influence Baldoni’s agent to sever their professional relationship, causing Baldoni and his team to fear that the couple was deliberately targeting both his career and personal life.
The legal proceedings continue, with both sides expected to present their case in the coming months.
