Blake Lively files legal challenge against Justin Baldoni’s team over depositions

December 21, 2025 – Actress Blake Lively has taken legal action against filmmaker Justin Baldoni and his legal team, accusing them of misconduct during depositions in their ongoing legal dispute.

The 38-year-old star’s lawyer submitted a letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman, claiming Baldoni’s attorneys displayed a “basic lack of decorum” by asking crude and inappropriate questions about Lively’s personal life. The allegations, outlined in court documents obtained by People Magazine, state:

“Throughout discovery, multiple defense counsel insisted on making speaking objections, often in depositions they were not defending, and consuming time on the record to demean and orate,” wrote Michael J. Gottlieb, Lively’s attorney.

Lively’s team emphasized that they had previously requested the opposing lawyers to cease inquiries into her romantic and sexual history back in September, but the questioning continued.

As a result, Lively’s lawyers are now seeking sanctions against Baldoni’s legal team, including reimbursement for legal fees and other related expenses incurred during the case.

This development follows a recent court decision to postpone Lively and Baldoni’s trial from March to May 18, 2026. The former co-stars are set to attend a settlement conference in February prior to the trial.

The legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni continues to attract significant media attention, with both sides preparing for what could be a high-profile courtroom showdown.
