Hollywood star Blake Lively has taken a significant step in her ongoing legal dispute with It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni by adding a high-profile attorney to her legal team.

The 38-year-old actress has hired Sigrid McCawley, a prominent lawyer widely known for representing victims of Jeffrey Epstein. The move comes ahead of Lively’s highly anticipated trial with Baldoni, which is scheduled to begin in May 2026.

Lively first filed a lawsuit in December 2024, alleging that Baldoni sexually harassed her during the production of It Ends With Us. She further claimed that the actor-director created a hostile and aggressive work environment on set. In addition, the actress accused Baldoni of orchestrating a smear campaign to damage her reputation following the allegations.

Baldoni has strongly denied all claims. He responded by filing countersuits, including a high-profile case against The New York Times, accusing the outlet of harming his public image. However, that lawsuit was later dismissed by a judge.

Speaking to PEOPLE, McCawley said it was an honor to join Lively’s legal team, emphasizing that the case represents “a woman who stood up for herself and for other women.”

The legal battle continues to draw significant attention as one of Hollywood’s most closely watched cases.
