Blake Lively is making legal moves to protect Taylor Swift amid her ongoing legal battle with It Ends with Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

The 37-year-old actress filed a motion this week requesting that Baldoni and his team be blocked from accessing Swift’s private text messages.

According to Page Six, Lively’s legal team submitted the request to New York judge Lewis J. Liman, who is presiding over the sexual harassment lawsuit involving Lively and Baldoni. In her filing, the Gossip Girl star accused Baldoni’s team of trying to exploit Swift’s name, fame, and loyal fanbase to influence public opinion and gain strategic advantage.

“Throughout litigation, and particularly over the past month, the Wayfarer Parties have repeatedly used Ms. Swift’s name as part of their media strategy,” Lively stated in her court filing, referencing Baldoni’s production company.

Lively’s spokesperson further explained the legal motion, telling the outlet, “Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties are still demanding access to Taylor Swift’s private communications—despite having already subpoenaed and later withdrawn that subpoena after claiming they ‘got all they needed.’”

The spokesperson also pointed to earlier documents, including an August 2024 “Scenario Planning” memo from PR strategist Melissa Nathan, which reportedly cited Swift’s influence and warned about the power of the “TS fanbase.”

“These continued attempts to involve the world’s biggest pop star as a PR tool reflect a public unraveling—and distract from the reality that Baldoni’s lawsuits against Ms. Lively, Ryan Reynolds, their publicist, and The New York Times have all been dismissed,” the spokesperson added.

Amid the escalating legal chaos, sources suggest that the once-close friendship between Lively and Swift has suffered. Reports claim Swift has begun to distance herself from Lively and now regrets their friendship entirely.

As the legal drama unfolds, all eyes are on how it will affect the high-profile relationships involved—and whether Taylor Swift will be dragged further into the spotlight against her will.
