Los Angeles, November 9, 2025 – Brad Pitt has paid tribute to Burt Reynolds, reflecting on the cherished memories they shared while preparing for Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. The 61-year-old actor shared his thoughts in Jay Glennie’s newly published book, The Making of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

Reynolds, who passed away in 2018, was originally set to play George Spahn in Quentin Tarantino’s film. Pitt described his time with Reynolds as “one of the greatest moments I have ever had in this industry.” He added, “To spend time with Burt Reynolds over those days was just f—— everything, man. He was the guy and there will never be anybody like him.”

The legendary actor had already participated in rehearsals with Brad Pitt, Dakota Fanning, and other co-stars, creating memories that Pitt continues to cherish.

Quentin Tarantino also shared a touching note in the book, saying, “To put the cherry on top of this entire poignant episode involving myself and Burt Reynolds, the last performance Burt ever gave was saying my lines when Brad acted with him, with me directing during our rehearsal. It was the last role Burt ever did.”

Following Reynolds’ passing, Bruce Dern was cast to take over the role of George Spahn, completing the film’s iconic ensemble.

The book provides fans with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Quentin Tarantino classic, while also highlighting the personal bonds and heartfelt moments shared between legendary actors like Pitt and Reynolds.

Fans and movie enthusiasts are moved by Pitt’s tribute, reflecting the lasting impact of Reynolds’ legacy in Hollywood cinema.
