Britney Spears responds to a viral video claiming she drove erratically, denying it was her and addressing ongoing scrutiny and family concerns.
Over the weekend, the “Toxic” hitmaker appeared to respond to a clip circulating online that allegedly showed her driving erratically through Thousand Oaks, California, following a dinner at Red-O restaurant last week.
“If anyone is wondering the lookalike was not me…,” the 43-year-old singer wrote on Instagram Saturday, alongside a cartoon image of Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck hugging.
The video, published by the Daily Mail on October 23, appeared to show Spears exiting the restaurant before swerving across lanes, drifting into a bike lane, and making a sharp U-turn. Although she did not mention the footage directly, her post came shortly after it began trending across social media.
In a follow-up Instagram message, Spears expressed frustration over the “unbelievably horrible things” being said about her online, adding that she no longer feels “inspired or motivated” to share new art. She later posted a throwback video of herself painting, signaling her attempt to reconnect with fans on a creative level.
Meanwhile, reports from Daily Mail suggest her family has been holding “crisis talks”, fearing that the pop superstar is “losing control” amid renewed media attention and controversy surrounding her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir, You Thought You Knew.
In the book, Federline makes several explosive claims about their three-year marriage and their two sons. Spears swiftly clapped back on X (formerly Twitter), calling her ex’s remarks “extremely hurtful and exhausting”, and her spokesperson accused him of trying to “profit off her story.”
Despite the ongoing drama, Britney’s loyal fanbase continues to rally behind her, urging the media to respect her privacy as she works to regain peace and creative inspiration.
