Karachi, June 11, 2025 – Port Qasim experienced a surge in maritime activity over the past 24 hours, with bustling shipping operations continuing into Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
According to the daily operations report issued by the Port Qasim Authority (PQA) at 08:00 hours, multiple vessels were involved in berthing, sailing, and shifting activities, reflecting the port’s critical role in Pakistan’s trade and logistics network.
The report highlights that three vessels, including M.T-NCC SAMA carrying MOGAS and M.T-NORDIC MASA with phosphoric acid, successfully departed from Port Qasim during the day. These vessels were handled efficiently through the specialized liquid cargo terminals such as FOTCO and EVTL, ensuring smooth outbound operations.
Simultaneously, several incoming vessels berthed at Port Qasim, handling a range of cargo from containers to soybean oil. Ships such as M.V-HANSA AFRICA, M.V-ZHONG HANG SHENG, and M.T-CHEMOCEAN LEO arrived with diverse commodities and were promptly allocated berths at QT2 and QICT terminals. This steady inflow and outflow of ships reflect the robust operations currently underway at the port.
Adding to the busy schedule was the shifting of M.V-LYRIC HARMONY, which transported canola seed and was relocated from PIBT for continued discharge and logistical coordination. This internal vessel movement within Port Qasim underlines the dynamic nature of daily port operations, which require meticulous scheduling and coordination.
Port Qasim remains one of Pakistan’s most vital maritime gateways, handling a significant share of the country’s import and export traffic. The port’s ability to process various types of cargo—from bulk goods and containerized freight to petroleum products—demonstrates its strategic importance and operational versatility.
In total, more than seven vessels were either berthed, sailed, or shifted in the last 24 hours, reaffirming the efficiency and high traffic volume managed at Port Qasim. The uninterrupted flow of these operations ensures that commercial and industrial supply chains across the country remain active and responsive.
As international trade continues to grow, the role of Port Qasim in facilitating smooth shipping operations remains more crucial than ever, helping to bolster Pakistan’s economic activities and trade infrastructure.
