The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV has officially crossed the one million global sales mark, highlighting its immense popularity across international markets.

First launched on February 19, 2022, the Atto 3—known domestically in China as the Yuan Plus—has emerged as one of BYD’s top-performing models, solidifying its place in the fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) segment.

The Atto 3 achieved this milestone in just 3 years and 9 months, with a strong sales trajectory that began in China. The model recorded its first 300,000 units sold within 14 months, added another 200,000 in the next six months, and reached the final half-million over the following 25 months.

On average, BYD has sold around 30 Atto 3s per hour globally—translating to over 700 units daily and roughly 20,000 units each month.

Currently available in more than 110 countries, the Atto 3’s pricing is adapted to suit regional markets. In China, it ranges from 115,800 to 147,800 yuan (around $16,100 to $20,560). In Thailand, prices vary between 899,900 and 1,049,900 baht (roughly $27,245 to $31,790), while UK buyers pay between £37,705 and £39,705 (about $50,580 to $53,265). In Germany, the Atto 3 is priced from €38,990 to €40,990 (approximately $44,830 to $47,125).

The compact EV is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor delivering 150 kW (201 hp). It comes with two battery options—49.9 kWh and 60.5 kWh—based on BYD’s Blade Battery (LFP chemistry), offering a CLTC range of 430–510 km and a WLTP range of 345–420 km.

Dimensionally, the Atto 3 measures 4455mm in length, 1875mm in width, and 1615mm in height, with a 2720mm wheelbase.

With this sales milestone, the Atto 3 joins BYD’s elite club of million-unit sellers. It follows the successful BYD Song crossover and Qin sedan from the Dynasty series, and the Seagull hatchback from the Ocean lineup.

The Atto 3’s global success reinforces BYD’s expanding footprint in the EV sector and signals growing consumer confidence in the brand’s innovation, affordability, and commitment to electric mobility.
