The upgraded BYD Seal 07 will be offered in PHEV and BEV versions, with up to 718 km of WLTP driving range.
BYD has officially unveiled the first images of the second-generation Seal 07, giving the mid-to-large sedan a substantial styling and size upgrade. The new model adopts the company’s latest design direction and will be available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) configurations.
Exterior and Dimensions
The new BYD Seal 07 follows the brand’s “Ocean Aesthetics 2.0” design philosophy, creating a visual connection with the larger Seal 08. At the front, the sedan features a closed-off grille and distinctive wave-shaped split headlights.
A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor is also visible, indicating that the vehicle could feature BYD’s “God’s Eye B” advanced driver-assistance system. The larger exterior dimensions are expected to provide additional interior space compared with the outgoing model.
The side profile features a clean and streamlined appearance with straight character lines, a panoramic sunroof and semi-hidden door handles. Buyers will reportedly have access to multiple wheel designs in 18-inch and 19-inch sizes. At the rear, a full-width taillight setup continues the styling theme seen on the Seal 08.
PHEV and BEV Powertrains
The PHEV version of the second-generation BYD Seal 07 will use a 1.5T turbocharged petrol engine producing 115 kW. It will work alongside a 160 kW electric motor and a 38.029 kWh LFP battery.
The plug-in hybrid sedan is rated for up to 245 km of pure-electric driving under the WLTC cycle, offering the potential for reduced fuel consumption during shorter daily journeys.
Meanwhile, the BEV variant will feature a 300 kW electric motor producing around 402 horsepower. It will have a claimed top speed of 240 km/h and a maximum WLTP range of 718 km.
Current Seal 07 Sales
Despite the new generation being introduced, the current BYD Seal 07 recorded relatively modest deliveries in August 2026. According to China EV DataTracker, BYD delivered 1,005 units of the existing Seal 07, covering both PHEV and BEV versions.
