BYD is set to make history in Pakistan’s automotive landscape with the official launch of the BYD Shark 6 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)—the country’s first-ever PHEV pickup truck.
Scheduled for launch on July 25, 2025, this groundbreaking model is expected to redefine the pickup segment, which currently comprises only petrol and diesel options.
The announcement, made through BYD Pakistan’s social media platforms, has generated significant excitement among hybrid vehicle enthusiasts and off-road fans nationwide.
Aggressive Design and Off-Road Capability
The BYD Shark 6 is built on BYD’s state-of-the-art Dual Mode Off-Road (DMO) platform, giving it a distinctive rugged look paired with real-world off-road performance. Its aggressive, shark-inspired aesthetics include a signature grille resembling a shark’s mouth, bold taillights, and sleek body contours.
With a ground clearance of 282mm, the Shark 6 is engineered to tackle Pakistan’s diverse terrains. Its key dimensions are:

Powering the BYD Shark 6 is a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine paired with dual electric motors—producing 170 kW in the front and 150 kW at the rear, for a combined output of 320 kW. This powerful setup ensures robust off-road capabilities and quick acceleration.
