Cambridge Publishes June 2025 A Level Grade Thresholds

CAIE

Cambridge International Education (CIE) has officially published the grade thresholds for the June 2025 AS and A Level examinations, enabling students to review the marks needed for each grade before the results are released.

The official results for the AS and A Level June 2025 examination series will be announced today, August 12, 2025, at 06:00 BST (UTC+1), via the Cambridge official website. This year’s release is being closely monitored by students in Pakistan and worldwide, particularly following the high-profile controversy surrounding leaked exam papers earlier this year.

Exam Paper Leak Controversy

In May/June 2025, Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) confirmed that several A Level papers had been partially leaked in Pakistan before the scheduled exam dates. The internal investigation revealed unauthorized access to content from three papers:

AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 12 – One question leaked before the exam date.

AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 42 – Portions of two questions circulated early.

AS & A Level Computer Science Paper 22 – Part of one question accessed in advance.

While CAIE stressed that these were partial leaks and not full paper exposures, the incident sparked concerns among candidates that grade thresholds might be set higher this session.

Cambridge’s Response and Support for Students

To uphold fairness, CAIE confirmed that all affected papers will be marked as usual. However, candidates in Pakistan who sat for any compromised papers will be offered a free resit opportunity in the November 2025 examination series, allowing them to improve their grades without additional fees.

Students Await Results

As the countdown to results day begins, students, parents, and educators are eager to see how the leaks and resulting grade thresholds will impact performance outcomes. The results hold significant weight for those seeking admission to universities and competitive academic programs.

Cambridge reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining examination integrity, transparency, and global fairness. Tomorrow’s announcement will mark the end of months of uncertainty, guiding the academic and career paths of thousands of students worldwide.
