SBP Announces Bank Holidays for Ashura e Moharram
Karachi, July 10, 2024 – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially declared bank holidays in observance of Ashura e Moharram. In a circular addressed to all banks, the SBP confirmed that it will remain closed on July 16th and 17th, 2024, corresponding to Tuesday and Wednesday, to mark the occasion of Ashura (9th and 10th Moharram 1446 A.H).

Ashura on 17th as Muharram Moon Not Sighted in Pakistan
Karachi – July 6, 2024 – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that the Islamic month of Muharram will commence on July 8th in Pakistan. The announcement came following the committee’s meeting on Saturday, where it was declared that the moon had not been sighted anywhere in the country.
