Karachi, October 13, 2023 – The Central Depository Company (CDC) has launched a 3-day World Investor Weekend 2023 in Karachi, aimed at raising awareness among potential investors and the general public regarding financial products and services.
This event, organized in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), leading Asset Management Companies (AMCs), and brokerage houses, is a significant step toward promoting financial literacy and empowering investors.
The inauguration of the event was officiated by Ms. Khalida Habib, Executive Director of SECP, in the presence of CDC CEO Badiuddin Akber, Chairman CDC Moin Fudda, and heads of other financial institutions. The primary goal of the World Investor Weekend is to educate the public about the range of safe and secure financial products available for both short and long-term investments in the Pakistani capital market.
This event is not only intended to amplify the message of investor empowerment and the safeguarding of investor rights but also to promote financial literacy and make financial concepts more accessible. The event will be live from October 13 to October 15, 2023.
The ground floor of Dolmen Mall Clifton will serve as the venue, featuring a comprehensive showcase of capital market participation, led by the Central Depository Company of Pakistan (CDC) and SECP Jamapunji, in collaboration with leading Asset Management Companies and Brokerage Houses. These entities will share their expert insights and experiences with the public to assist them in making safe and informed investment decisions, ultimately fostering an investment culture in Pakistan.
Notable institutions participating in the event include Al-Meezan Investments, Atlas Asset Management, Al-Habib AMC, Arif Habib Limited, JS Investments, Hilal Invest, UBL Funds, AlFalah CLSA, MCB Funds, and ABL Funds.
